Registered Apprenticeships are a valuable tool in our effort to help more Americans get the skills they need to compete in the modern economy.

Thank you very much. Thank you to all of you. Your testimony was very helpful.
I know through my conversations that there is strong bipartisan support for apprenticeships.
According to the briefing slides provided by the Department, those members of the National Guard and Reserve performing Category II active service would receive different rates of Basic Allowance for Housing depending on the duration of their service.
If a service member were to change from Category I to Category II, would he or she receive official notification of this?
I think there has been some confusion. And as you are talking about the need to really, you know, focus more on national security needs, of course, and readiness, you know, that raises the question of why we are not trying to really answer the issue that is in front of us when it comes to the personnel at the border.
I appreciate the bipartisanship and the sensibility that I saw during this committee funding resolution process.
I had the great honor actually to chair this subcommittee throughout Don't Ask, Don't Tell...
I think generally speaking the transition was much smoother than people thought.
But what we are looking at is the possibility that that will change and that those individuals then would not be able to go on and serve their country...
I think that there is this disconnect that we are talking about where, if we could see that as a transition that is not unlike some other possibilities...
