Kamala Harris is the Vice President of the United States, having taken office on January 20, 2021. She is the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history. A member of the Democratic Party, Harris previously served as a U.S. Senator from California from 2017 to 2021, where she was known for her work on issues such as criminal justice reform, healthcare, and immigration. Before her tenure in the Senate, she served as the Attorney General of California from 2011 to 2017, focusing on consumer protection and civil rights.
When I was in high school, my best friend was being molested by her stepfather. That experience drove me to want to protect others.
I created a whole unit dedicated to focusing on children who were being abused and ensuring they have dignity in the process.
The heroes of the civil rights movement, like Thurgood Marshall, inspired me to go to law school.
We are at a pivotal moment in our history. We must stand together to protect our freedoms and ensure a better future for all Americans.
We will not sit back and allow our freedoms to be eroded. We must fight for the soul of this nation, and I am ready to lead that fight.
Let’s be clear, the stakes in this election couldn’t be higher. The choices we make in November will shape the future of this country for generations to come.
