The recent increase in illegal migration and domestic labor shortages has prompted a renewed focus on the need for an enhanced U.S. immigration policy.
That is in the American tradition of opening our doors to those that are being persecuted, fleeing violence and war.
I am very proud that the Biden administration just waived 42 and gave temporary protective status to the Ukrainian refugees.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and others are stepping up and saying we need the workers. There is a win-win here somewhere.
The question we have to ask ourselves as Americans is are we open to refugees or not?
I would say to you that those are factors we can look at. Because getting to the border and being in the situation that I see right now at the border, is also not a safe, acceptable situation.
This stuff is getting more and more common. Yet, I believe it pales to the potential damage of a terrorist attack on one of our systems, a water system.
