It is time for Congress to repeal, once and for all, the Mining Law policy allowing willy-nilly privatizing of the federal lands.

It is time for Congress to close this glaring loophole.

Second, the Mining Law fails to produce any direct financial return to the public.

In difficult economic times, the power and value of volunteer service is greater.
