It doesn't serve anyone any good if we are just doing the research in the government and not transferring that research out to the private sector.

I have always believed whether it was as a local city councilman or a sitting Member of Congress that the government works best when we can share our resources with the private sector.
A focus of today's hearing is the development of an exascale computing capability.
I have never been one to believe that the government should be the only one at the table when it comes to innovation.
We need to protect and defend against them, especially against outside actors and nation states who are very aggressive.
I think we can agree that international collaboration has served our country well, and I for one want to emphasize the role that scientists of Asian and Middle Eastern descent have played at our National Laboratories.
