“The free health care currently enjoyed by Federal prisoners is an offense to every law-abiding, hard-working American taxpayer who struggles to make ends meet. It is time to end the free ride for Federal prisoners by requiring them to contribute to the costs of their own care. The Federal prisoner health care copayment act puts an end to the unfair policy that permits convicts totally free access to unlimited health care. Also, under the act, every time a convict pays to heal himself, he will pay to heal a victim.”
