I applaud you for this because being from South Carolina, we are about as far away from the Southern and Northern Border as you can imagine, but we fully understand the threats that are opposed to this Nation that could come across, not just across the open border areas, but through our normal ports of entry.

I have received assurances from leadership that our bill will be brought before the House for a vote in June.
Opioid abuse has become an epidemic across the entire Nation, affecting all 50 States.
I do want to note that the appropriations bill included $284 million for port and drug inspection technologies within CBP, and $71 million specifically for opioid detection.
