Mr. President, reserving the right to object, it is our view that the extension of many provisions of the Tax Code, which is the subject of the leader's request, makes some sense if we extend all of the provisions of the Tax Code we can. With that in mind, I ask that the consent be modified so that the text of House-passed bill H.R. 8 be added to the substitute referred to by the leader; further, that the bill then be read a third time and passed as amended.
