“I appreciate his efforts and the efforts of all of those who have worked with me. Just to summarize for those who were not here earlier, my amendment is very simple. It merely provides an option for employers that offer plans that are covered by this bill to also provide an alternative for their employees. That would permit the employees to have as their remedy the receipt of the health care or for the cost of that health care rather than going to court and getting damages as they are permitted to do under the bill. This should provide a lower cost alternative that could be made available to them.”
