“I suggest that probably raises the question of perhaps having an additional hearing to deal with these questions. I have the greatest respect for Senators Breaux and Johnston, and I certainly admire their support for this nominee. But, given the fact that about one-third of the members of the Judiciary Committee have not had an opportunity to question Judge Dennis, and, second, that the transcript from the hearing where that opportunity was afforded is very meager to say the least, it seems to me that perhaps the motion to recommit would be the best course of action to consider at least these new allegations.”
