The question is whether a total withdrawal and announcement of it encourages the Taliban and increases dramatically the risk of the rise of the Taliban and further chaos in the country and further death and suffering and threats to the United States of America, which is why we went into Afghanistan to start with because of al-Qaeda being based there. It is a bad decision and we will pay a very heavy price for it.
