“As I listened to the gentleman from Wisconsin and his comments, it is correct that yesterday there was a suggestion of an offer of a deal that might be made, and it was to drop out the one provision that we do not like in there, and keep the other three that we do like. So, Mr. Speaker, the offer was: What's mine is mine, what's is yours is also mine. That is basically it. It is four out of four. We have got four provisions in there, three we really like, one we do not like. We have to be given the fourth one. That is their idea of a compromise. It is like moving the goalposts all the time. Now we have got a provision here, a bill on the floor, where we have dropped out that one that was so controversial last week and that caused most of the Democrats to vote against it. But that is not enough, there has to be something else. So they always keep moving the markers, and we have to pass a bill, we do have to get out here, and we have to get our job done, and we are going to pass this bill. Mr. Speaker, it is a good bill. As my colleague from Maryland has said, it is a good bill which provides for good money for law enforcement, and we should pass this bill.”
