Madam President, I have five unanimous consent requests for committees to meet during today's session of the Senate. They have the approval of the majority and minority leaders. I ask unanimous consent that these requests be agreed to and that these requests be printed in the Record. Mr. McCAIN. I object. The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard. Mr. McCAIN. Madam President, for the benefit of my colleagues, until we finish this bill, I don't want anybody doing anything but finishing this legislation. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator from Arizona. Mr. McCAIN. Madam President, while we are waiting, I believe that one of the Senators is coming to the floor for a unanimous consent request. I would like to talk for a minute with my friend from Rhode Island, the ranking member, about a provision that is being held up, unfortunately, and that has to do with our interpreters, who have literally placed their lives on the line in order to help Americans and literally save American lives. That amendment is being held up for extraneous reasons. The Senator from New Hampshire, I, and everybody on a bipartisan basis, and with fervent pleas from people such as GEN David Petraeus, GEN Stanley McChrystal, and Ambassador Ryan Crocker--later on I will read all of these individuals' letters that are almost wrenching because, in the words of, I believe, General McChrystal, it is not just a regular obligation, it is a moral obligation.…
