“I thank my colleague for having this colloquy. First, on the NDAA, I thank him for the work he has done this year and every year to make sure we get the NDAA passed. It is one of the single pieces of authorizing legislation we routinely pass and the President signs. It is important to our military to have that guidance--to know not just that we will appropriate the money, but we authorize the money and tell them how it needs to be spent. Arizona is fortunate to have the chairman of the Armed Services Committee representing the State and understanding the importance of these installations and our national defense.
