Arizona election officials have always worked to ensure that only eligible citizens are registered to vote, and we will continue following Arizona law—not directions that come from political rhetoric or intimidation.

The time, place and manner of our elections are established by the states. Congress can jump in once in a while, but there’s a process to the rules. You can’t just come in as a wannabe strongman and take things over.
This should not be a partisan issue. That’s the hill that I’m willing to die on.
However, after years of legal wrangling and legislation, Arizona does need clarity from the Court on how to administer the citizenship requirement for voting.
Some would even say, as I have said, it is an emergent method to move us toward fascism in this Nation.
