“I think every one of us in this body owe them our respect and gratitude for the great job they did on this bill. There have been many things said about this bill, and if there is one thing this body stands for, it is that right for any Member to express their opinion and vote in that way, and I respect that. We have had many things said about this bill, but I can tell my colleagues one thing, we have people come and talk about how we are going to produce too much. Having too much food is like having too much money. It is pretty hard to do. We do not want to run out of either one of them, and when we do, we have got a major problem. This is a good bill. It is a balanced bill. It treats everyone as fairly as we can with the resources that we have at our disposal. The objective of a farm bill is food security. It is not a social program. America's farmers have served this country well. They deserve our support and to be recognized with this bill, to continue to produce the cheapest, safest food supply in the history of this country. I urge passage of this bill.”
