Simply put, fewer agents mean fewer investigations of national security threats, drug trafficking, cyber intrusions, child pornography, human trafficking, financial scams, and a host of other crimes under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government.
Fewer agents would reduce investigations into various crimes and national security threats.
