I rise today in the well of the House of Representatives to honor those who have so nobly given their lives in defense of our freedoms and values. The men and women serving in the armed services both here and abroad are American heroes. We are holding this moment of silence today for our fellow countrymen and women that have given the last full measure of devotion in battlefields throughout the world. They will forever be remembered and revered in the memory of this great Nation.
