The reason I have strong objection to that--and I am going to talk a great deal about that--is that the Jeffords amendment is an amendment with which I agree. I like it. I like it in some respects better than I do my own. I want for the people of this body to understand that if they vote to table the Bumpers amendment, they will not get a chance to vote on the Jeffords amendment, which I think most of them would like to do.
