I think that is a very dangerous precedent, and I do hope that Americans understand this: That the Constitution does not change from administration to administration. The advise and consent role stays there for the Senate to exercise. If the Senate willingly abdicates this role and decides, I have a President of my own party in the White House now, so I better not ask any questions because I may not like the answers, that is, I believe, a direct repudiation of our constitutional obligations.
