I just want to make a few closing observations of my perspective on this second-degree amendment and clarify a few things that I think are not representative at all of what this second-degree amendment does. May I just say also, being the Senator from the State of Arkansas and being from the hometown in which Wal-Mart stores are nationally headquartered, world wide headquartered, and Wal-Mart has been disparagingly mentioned several times----

The American people put the Republicans in charge of the House. We have to operate as a team.
Well, the investigation was very thorough. The allegations could not be more serious. No woman should have to go to the workplace and have to choose between a paycheck and being assaulted, particularly when it's in a public environment.
Leaders need to calm the emotions. Leaders need to say, let's get the facts and let's have confidence and not undermine our judicial system, which, again, is so important to our democracy.
