“I believe that bankruptcy is important in America and that we should not do anything to destroy that system which was really a hallmark of our country, where people came to this country getting away from debtor's prison, moving to the United States of America for a fresh start. That is an important part of our country, to give debtors a fresh start when there is not any alternative. I for one would not want to do anything to erode that important part of our country's history and our country's legal system. So I believe the fresh start is important. This bill, H.R. 833, preserves that important right.”
