On the recordDecember 18, 1998
I have been taking notes on my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, and I would just ask them to talk about the facts in the articles, four. We would love them to talk about those. If anyone disputes the allegations of perjury, obstruction of justice, we would like to hear some specific allegations. The Committee on the Judiciary conducted an independent review of this matter. We are not bound by Kenneth Starr. All the exculpatory material was made available to the President's counsel. He had an opportunity to call witnesses. We urged him to. All the time was not taken by the President's counsel, and I think that is important to be noted. Mr. Speaker, I believe it is critical that we were fair through the Committee on the Judiciary process, and I believe we accomplished that.
