The Trump Department of Justice has used its power to intimidate and victimize communities of color, especially Black Americans.

Today, the court made clear that those tactics will not stand. Black voters in Alabama cannot and will not be silenced.

This investigation is just one more example of Republicans and President Trump using power of his office to harass and intimidate anyone willing to challenge him.

I am open to exploring any proposal that would reverse or mitigate the harm that this cruel bill is inflicting on our children, but let’s be clear – these cuts to SNAP should never have become law in the first place.
