I do want to caution Members that it is not an obligation of Congress or of Members of Congress... to intervene and to suggest to the lenders that they do anything other than give due consideration. We simply put them in communication. Now, we will help them with the applications, but I think it is important, in all our dealings, that we do not try to intervene in legal obligations or in any way appear to coerce or influence that outcome. I think this is a very good amendment, and I would encourage Members to support it. There are also VA programs and FHA programs that we can put borrowers in touch with. This, I believe, is an amendment I will support.
