It's my honor and my privilege this afternoon to welcome our guest chaplain, Dennis Culbreth, who gave today's opening prayer. Dr. Culbreth, as senior pastor, serves a congregation of 2,400 at First Baptist Church in Jasper, Alabama. Prior to his tenure at First Baptist Church in Jasper, he served congregations across Alabama, Virginia, and Georgia. In addition to his service within his congregation, Dr. Culbreth has also been an active member of the senior executive leadership team for the North American Mission Board and the Virginia Baptist Convention. Dr. Culbreth earned his bachelor of arts at Samford University, his master's in divinity at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his doctorate at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a native of Evergreen, Alabama, and enjoys spending time with his family--his wife, Marybeth, and children Andrew, Matthew, and Grace--as well as playing an occasional round of golf. Dr. Culbreth is a devoted and inspired leader in our community, and it's a privilege to have him here today to be with us and to give our opening prayer. It's my honor to serve him, his family, and his congregation in the Fourth Congressional District of Alabama. Again, I welcome Dr. Culbreth to the United States House of Representatives this afternoon. ____________________

I thank the gentleman for yielding. Mr. Speaker, first of all, I thank my colleague, Congressman Lamborn, for once again organizing this important Special Order, as he has done many times in the past. Not only that, but I thank him for his…
