As recently stated by the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency at a HASC hearing on worldwide threats, 'the threat to U.S. space systems and services will increase as potential adversaries pursue disruptive and destructive counterspace capabilities . . . Chinese and Russia military leaders understand the unique information advantages afforded by space systems and are developing capabilities to deny U.S. use of space in the event of a conflict.'
