“Well, I just was thinking, while we were talking about this, part of the President's criticism in this article that came out is about Republicans' approach to just slashing spending. If any of us cannot recognize that we are spending well beyond our means--we have $17 trillion in debt and our 4th year with over $1 trillion deficit. My kids, Margaret and George, are the reason that I'm here. Why I'm fighting is for that generation that's going to carry this burden after we're all gone. And for us to not first admit that we have a problem as we move toward finding solutions and admitting that we are spending well beyond our means, that we do have to rein in spending, that we have to change the approach, that's when we see our economy improve. That's when we see hardworking American taxpaying families begin to be able to pick up and make that investment that you mentioned into the business so that they can be the job creators. So this is great if the President wants to talk about this again because I see, for my kids' future, that this is how we're going to get this country back on track.”
