It is important, as I hope the Senator from Kansas and I have pointed out, that we must do something on a national basis. Missouri patients cannot continue to lose their trusted doctors to the State of Kansas. We cannot see people driven out of the practice of medicine--well-educated, good practitioners who cannot afford the premiums. Unless we act today, retaining and recruiting doctors in Missouri will continue to be a difficult task. I urge my colleagues to consider the experience of patients in Kansas City and across Missouri and support the essential medical liability reforms in S. 11.
