We intend to get a vote on this one way or the other. We would like to do it. I think we can save everybody a lot of trouble if the majority side has an amendment on which they wish to vote. They can get that up first. I would have no objection to doing that if they will then give us an up-or-down vote on my amendment.

I know the tide is changing. I can see from poll results where the support for same-sex marriage used to be minimal. It grew. It grew and grew.
All Americans ought to enjoy civil rights, and whatever the court does today, we are going to move a step closer to everyone enjoying these rights.
Well, I think it is. I mean any time a group of people are denied rights and struggle for their rights, that's a civil rights movement.
