I cannot agree to that. I cannot accept having our officers placed at that kind of risk.
I've not so jokingly said, for years, Congress will pass anything on immigration, as long as it doesn't work.
I see the fact that no one was being prosecuted for this as a factor in a fivefold increase in four years in this count of illegal immigration. So, yes, hopefully people will get the message.
I think we ought to clarify it one way or the other so the public is out there not breaking Federal law.
