Now, my understanding of the law of supply and demand, if we have a high demand for labor, why haven't the wages gone up more than 1 percent, or even fallen for low-skilled workers?

I think this is doable, but it cannot be done if we haven't fixed the illegal immigration flow.

I see the fact that no one was being prosecuted for this as a factor in a fivefold increase in four years in this count of illegal immigration. So, yes, hopefully people will get the message.
