It is unfortunate the US has decided to completely disregard the sanctions.

We want to end this war as quick as possible. We don’t see now signals from the Russian side that they are ready for this, to end this war. That’s why we have to prepare for the winter.

The sanctions could have helped enormously.

They are slightly on Russia’s side. And by ‘slightly,’ I mean not direct weapons supplies, but a greater openness to them, a greater willingness to help them rather than us – and for a country as large as China, ‘slightly’ means a lot.
