Our NHS is used to gearing up for these kinds of pressures in winter. But we are going to need the same level of preparation in future summers. I have told the NHS to start drawing up summer plans now in the way they have traditionally done for winter.

Keir wanted the immigration white paper. Actually, we did a lot of the work on it in the Home Office, and a whole set of plans to bring legal migration back under control, a whole set of reforms around illegal migration and so on.
I do agree that actually that was not highlighted in the priorities in February. That is a reflection of the pace at which this is moving, and this is me looking forward and thinking this is going to shape everything that we do.
