There are still some councils that are saying no to the pubs, and my message to those councils is please say yes.

My selected option will support devolution most effectively, by creating distinct place-based authorities that are close to the needs of their populations.

This Government is driving the most ambitious programme of local government reform in a generation, replacing the inefficient two-tier system with new unitary councils so that all parts of our country are ready for devolution.

By holding overseas donors to tougher standards and requiring candidates to prove where their funding comes from, we are taking world-leading action to protect the integrity of our elections and tackle the threats we face from abroad.
