As a democrat, and as a socialist, I don’t think it's right to use this process and especially negative SIs to avoid parliamentary scrutiny and debate, because all laws benefit from good scrutiny.

I think the public should be worried full stop.

My amendment to limit all single donations in a calendar year to £100,000 – a huge sum itself to most – would ensure no one can evade a cap wherever they are based.
