Michael Shanks: “The Labour government is delivering a golden age of nuclear in England and Wales”

The Games show what is possible when we build the clean power Britain needs, and we're making great progress.

Scotland will end up being reliant on nuclear being imported from other parts of the UK on days where there's low wind.

More than 70 per cent of the supply chain for the SMRs of Wales will be built in Britain, that's jobs and opportunities, but obviously we could open up even more opportunities if we were actually building the projects in Scotland as well.

I totally accept that people might not like that, but it is critical national infrastructure and it has to be built somewhere.
