Lara Bird: “I THINK you've got to be really realistic about what's going to happen in Westminster.”

Politics is changing in Westminster.

Andy Burnham must change tact and match the SNP’s ambition to tackle child poverty.

I would like to have an independence referendum tomorrow, and I understand that one of the really key motivations behind this new ‘independence’ group is urgency and is making sure that we're moving forward as quickly as we can.

That move alone would lift an estimated million children out of poverty overnight - that’s what a government and a party that is serious about ending child poverty looks like.
