James Cleverly: “Our route to getting Kemi in No 10 has got to be through success in London.”

London’s reputation has been allowed to slip, at home and abroad, while too many of its problems have been left to fester.

The Conservative Party, and London, needs a credible candidate with the experience and confidence to win. I know this city. I know the job. I know I can do it. And I know I can beat whoever Labour puts forward.

I’m going to run as an aspirational, entrepreneurial, forward-thinking Conservative candidate that is in tune with the city.

I don’t buy the lazy idea that London is a Labour city.
