On the recordDecember 12, 2007
The words I would like my colleagues to remember are ``farms, yes; residential, no.'' If the Alexander amendment is adopted, there would be subsidies for wind turbines up to 12 stories tall in agricultural areas, but there would be no subsidies for wind turbines in residential areas. This is called ``small wind.'' Twelve stories is not very tall, but I would not want to go home and explain to my constituents why I took their tax dollars and helped a neighbor build a 12-story-tall wind turbine with flashing lights in a residential neighborhood. Farms, yes; residential, no. I ask for a ``yes'' vote.
