We’re asking councils to support as many applications for special events as possible, because the last thing any of us want to see is people being turfed indoors half way through penalties.
Currently this is an idea that’s being looked at. It’s not a worked-up policy, but in principle, because fiscal devolution is on the table, that ’s certainly an area we’d look at.
It’s also right that the public should have the power to protect cherished buildings at risk of demolition. That is why we want to extend the list which already protects pubs to other venues valued by the community.
