I think lots of people think they see this stuff coming towards them. And it should be much easier for people to say ‘let’s have a reset’ – so I am looking at that again.

I was really struck by the calls from bereaved families, who said every week you don’t act, another children dies or is at risk of dying or is at risk of serious harm.
What people see is a few very, very powerful, wealthy individuals benefiting from tech and we believe tech should be there for all. It should have opportunities for all.
But we do think we need to draw this line in the sand, give greater clarity to parents and greater protections for children.
These measures will be crucial in helping young people get the sleep they need, focus on school and college, and spend more quality time with family and friends, all of which are fundamental to building a happy, healthy and fulfilling…
