Lisa Nandy: “It most certainly is not.”

I am conscious that the proposed acquisition is global in nature. In reaching this decision, my focus has been, and will remain, on the UK public interest and the range of services available to UK audiences.

This is not a nice-to-have. It is essential to a cohesive country. Our debate is too narrow and too small. We will change that.

A platform originally designed for free speech and expression now favours abuse and misinformation over meaningful debate.

So defence remains the highest priority, and I don’t agree that we’re not committing the resources that we need.
