Well, can I commend my honourable friend for the difference that he's made, including his hard work to bring pride of place funding to his constituency.
When we look carefully at arrest data, prosecution data, conviction data we do see examples of disproportionality, not just in relation to black communities, Muslim communities, Gypsy Roma, Traveller communities.
I think that what the public want to see, understandably, if you've committed a crime, is punishment, but they also want to see rehabilitation, and so I tend to talk about punishment that works, and the emphasis on works is important.
