There is no shortcut. There is no political wheeze that can change the task ahead of us.

It’s almost like he has been taking advice from Anas Sarwar, the man who told us that he was a lifelong campaigner against the House of Lords, just as he was taking up a seat in the House of Lords.

The public know that those with a real interest in Scotland’s future take the high road in the opposite direction.

But let’s make sure that power and that decision making is taken by the Scottish people and they have the opportunity to do so in an independence referendum.
