Anas Sarwar: “The hardest job in British politics is being the leader of the Scottish Labour Party.”

My role is elected by and supported by our members here in Scotland, and it's for people here in Scotland to decide what happens here in Scotland. And I'm absolutely committed to pulling my party together and taking on those big fights.

Your relationship with each other, your ability to work with each other and to look out for each other is going to be crucial.

The distraction needs to end, and the leadership in Downing Street needs to change.

Honestly, hand on heart – because I’ve done it for five years – the hardest job in British politics is being the leader of the Scottish Labour Party.
