Maree Todd: “Protecting the health of young people in Scotland is an absolute priority.”

I hear directly from athletes how much it means to them to represent Scotland on the world stage, and the Commonwealth Games, for many of our athletes, is the only opportunity for that to happen.

I am very definitely definitely women’s health minister in Scotland and I’m proud to be so and I’m determined to make progress.

It is a glaring gap that in 100 years there hasn’t been an African-hosted Commonwealth Games and I think Scotland has played a part in making that a possibility.

However, I believe that the decision reached by these six male councillors is inexplicable, indefensible, and should be overturned.
