I understand that this war with Ukraine, death of people, must be shocking. But what about the bloody state coup in Ukraine in 2014, which was followed by the war of the Kyiv regime against their own people in Donbas? Is it not shocking? What about the elimination of civilians in Palestine, in Gaza?
Putin compares the situation in Ukraine to the conflict in Gaza, highlighting the loss of civilian lives.

More from Vladimir Putin
Nobody can divide or intimidate us, undermine our statehood, our public and political system.
Such a high, even record, number of people who came out and voted shows that the people of Russia support our efforts aimed at strengthening the country.
Understanding that he is entering a difficult situation, he nevertheless does not stop his efforts to help bring about a settlement and to make his contribution to resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
At the heart of this escalation lie arrogance and overconfidence. This is a path to the brink of the abyss.
