I will now vote to support President Trump’s rescissions package to clawback $9.4 billion in federal spending.

We need an electable candidate that can win not just a primary, but a general, and we believe there’s a path there for Cornyn to win both.

One of the great achievements of President Trump’s first term was the confirmation of some 234 judges to the federal bench.

There are currently only around 50 vacancies on the federal bench.

We’re not facing the number of judicial vacancies this Congress that we faced during President Trump’s first term.

I’m disappointed to see Schumer implicitly threaten to shut down the government.

We are aware of the sensitivities of using a rescissions package versus the appropriations process.

If you do appropriations in the Senate, you have 60 votes to support it. If you do rescissions, you can take it back with 50, which then makes it tougher to get a bipartisan agreement on an appropriations package.

But I’m hopeful that that is not the position of the Democrat Party, the Democrat conference here in the Senate, and that we can work together in the coming weeks to pass bipartisan appropriations bills.

They heard from President Trump over and over again how much good was in this bill.

So much of what the Senate did is just turned back to the policy limitations that existed under the Obama era.

Hopefully on the home stretch and then we’ll see where the votes are.
