When Donald Trump tried to overturn the election results, he focused on just a few States.

He lied to his supporters and the country.

He lost. But he betrayed the trust of American people. The people had voted him out. And the courts upheld the will of the people.

The select committee to investigate the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol will be in order.

Our democracy came dangerously close to catastrophe.

I`m from a part of the country where people justify the actions of slavery, the Klu Klux Klan and Lynching and reminded of that dark history, as I hear voices today, try and justify the actions of the insurrectionists on January 6, 2021.

We are not going to stop what we`re doing to share the information that we`ve gotten so far with the Department of Justice.

Mike Pence said no. He resisted the pressure. He knew it was illegal. He knew it was wrong.

There is no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American President.

Our system nearly failed and our democratic foundation destroyed but for people like you.

Thanks in part to Mike Pence, our democracy withstood Donald Trump's scheme and the violence of January 6th.

We are not going to stop what we're doing to share the information that we've gotten so far with the Department of Justice, we have to do our work.

this administration continues to blame President Putin for this inflation, and despite the price increases going through the roof, but the administration, in my opinion, got it wrong when they kept insisting that this is transitory.

The country faces so many threats from White supremacists and militia extremists, cyber criminals, pandemic diseases, authoritarian governments, and extreme weather caused by climate change.

January 6th and the lies that led to insurrection have put two and a half centuries of constitutional democracy at risk.

Yet just as importantly, these programs must ensure that the protections for privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties that all Americans enjoy are not swept aside in the name of prevention.
